THE ROLE
We are looking for a talented and experienced System Architect with a strong focus on hardware development to join our dynamic team. This role involves designing and architecting cutting-edge systems and components for direct air capture technologies, ensuring the scalability, efficiency, and reliability of hardware systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of system-level architecture, hardware design (mechanical and electrical), systems automation and integration, with a passion for solving complex engineering challenges
YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT BY
Developing our next generation of direct air capture machines through system architectures that meet challenging technical requirements, ensure scalability, reach cost-efficiency, and support operational goals for out DAC systems.
Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including hardware-, software,- electrical- and automation engineers as well as product managers to define and refine our hardware solutions.
Designing and specifying components, interfaces, and integrations for complex hardware systems.
Conducting systems modeling, simulations and risk analyses to optimize performance and reliability.
Ensure adherence to design standards, regulatory compliance, and safety protocols.
Provide technical leadership within the product development team to promote best practices in hardware development and system integration.
Working closely with project managers and stakeholders to align project objectives and timelines.
Preparing technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to team leads and management

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in process engineering, hardware architecture and system-level design, with a proven track record in designing complex systems.
Strong experience in hardware development for large-scale industrial systems (preferably in clean tech, energy, or similar sectors).
Familiarity with DAC technologies and processes is a plus.
Proficiency in system modeling, simulation, and CAD software (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, Inventor , or similar).
Expertise in design for manufacturability, including knowledge of material selection, cost estimation, and supply chain considerations.
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software systems integration.
Experience with the entire hardware lifecycle, from concept through design, testing, manufacturing, deployment and operation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Proven organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proven effective in stakeholder management of peers and management.
