THE ROLE

As a RnD Engineer at Skytree, you will be responsible for designing and developing test equipment to support our cutting-edge CO₂ capture solutions. Your role will encompass control electronics, data acquisition systems, sensor selection, PCB design, firmware development, and system integration.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will select components, assemble and optimize equipment, and ensure seamless integration with our systems. You will also document designs, contribute to product development, and play a key role in advancing Skytree’s technology.

YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT BY

  • Design & Build: You focus on designing and constructing test setups for sorbent materials, taking full ownership of the test bench and other critical test equipment.

  • Firmware & Control Systems: You develop firmware, control systems, and data acquisition software for Arduino-based platforms and other systems such as LabJack.

  • Component Selection & Deployment: You select and integrate functional components, including sensors, valves, heaters, and fans.

  • Rapid Prototyping: You implement quick iterations to refine and optimize designs.

  • Data Analysis: You write Python scripts for data analysis, ensuring accurate evaluation of test results.

  • Requirements & Schematics: You generate detailed product and test equipment requirements, define electrical schematics, select board components, and design physical board layouts.

  • Supplier & Manufacturer Collaboration: You lead discussions with suppliers and manufacturers to source sensors and other critical electromechanical components.

  • Documentation & Reporting: You create documentation, status reports, and operating procedures to support development and testing.

Team Collaboration: You work closely with the broader Skytree team, contributing to the success of CO₂ capture innovations.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience & Education: 3+ years of experience with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (Chemistry, Engineering, etc) 

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Arduino programming, Python, and PCB design (nice to have). Familiar with sensor selection (temperature, flow, pressure etc), data acquisition, SCADA (Daqfactory), and communication protocols (analog, serial, Ethernet/Modbus).

  • Tools & Software: Comfortable with basic CAD (preferably Inventor) and experience with LabJack, Simulink/Matlab, and PLC programming (nice to have). Knowledge of HVAC components and thermal-fluid systems is a plus.

  • Work Approach: A self-starter who can work independently while managing multiple projects. Open-minded and collaborative in a diverse, multi-cultural team.

  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear technical documentation; professional fluency in English.
