THE ROLE
As Sr. IoT Engineer (for both Edge & Backend), you will be responsible for leading our overall IoT project which includes both Azure IoT edge and IoT cloud solution. This includes designing, developing, and deploying IoT edge solutions that integrate seamlessly with our broader IoT infrastructure, and adding new features to our Azure IoT cloud solution. This role demands a deep understanding of IoT systems, as well as experience with edge computing, network protocols, and hardware-software integration.
YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT BY
Develop, deploy, and manage containerized applications on edge devices using Azure IoT Edge and Docker, while integrating industrial protocols like MODBUS and OPC-UA.
Implement edge data processing, storage, and communication protocols, including working with time series databases such as InfluxDB.
Ensure secure and reliable data transmission between edge devices and the cloud, performing system testing, debugging, and validation for robustness.
Stay updated with the latest trends in IoT, edge computing, and embedded systems to enhance system performance and reliability
Implement and maintain Azure Data Explorer (ADX) functionalities, including Kusto Query Language queries, real-time data ingestion, telemetry processing, and analytics for Azure IoT environments.
Build and manage secure, scalable data pipelines using Azure services like Event Hubs, Stream Analytics, Azure Functions, and integrate APIs via Azure API Management for IoT web applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define features for the UI layer, ensuring efficient API operations for internal and external IoT data consumption.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with 5-10 years of experience in Azure cloud solutions (IoT focus is a plus).
Proficiency in Azure Data Explorer, Kusto Query Language, and Azure services like Stream Analytics, Azure Functions, Event Hubs, and Logic Apps.
Hands-on experience with Docker for edge module development and deployment, and knowledge of edge computing architectures like Azure IoT Edge.
Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, and/or NodeJS, along with IoT protocols (MQTT, HTTP) and networking.
Experience with AI/ML workloads on edge devices using Azure Machine Learning and Azure Cognitive Services. (nice to have)
Familiarity with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure DevOps, and version control systems like Git (nice to have)
Experience with embedded devices and IoT solutions for industrial hardware (nice to have)
