THE ROLE

You will lead Skytree’s capture material development internally and in close collaboration with external partners. You will expand Skytree’s capabilities to modify and test existing and novel sorbent materials. By mentoring and guiding junior researchers and interns, and kicking off new projects you will play a vital part in our in-house R&D. You will work with other experts, in chemical engineering, mechanical design and sustainability, to inform the trajectory of our capture materials development.

YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT BY

  • Leading the execution of the capture material technology development activities

  • Serving as the main point of contact with collaboration partners (universities, research institutes, industrial business partners)

  • Developing key insights into material performance and provide recommendations for optimization of material processing, packaging, and technology implementation

  • Supporting the development of reactor predictive models

  • Designing experimental procedures, conduct testing, and perform data analysis

  • Developing internal procedures and recommendations for standardization of material performance testing and Quality Control measures

  • Writing documentation, status reports, and operating procedures

  • Performing regular literature surveys to monitor recent developments

  • Mentoring and leading junior scientists

  • Supporting the surrounding Skytree team

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You have a MSc. degree and 5+ years of relevant work experience in a related field such as Chemistry, Chemical engineering, or Material science. Alternatively you have obtained a PhD in a relevant field

  • Experience in industrialisation of the developed solutions

  • Knowledge and experience in characterizing a wide range of materials (polymers, porous materials, etc.)

  • Experience in developing and carrying out testing procedures, including Design of Experiments (DoE) Methodology

  • Experience in data analysis (R, Python, Matlab, Mathematica etc.)

  • Experience with sensors and measurement uncertainty (bonus)

  • Experience in numerical simulations (bonus)

  • Good presentation and communication skills

  • Fluent in English, both verbally and in written form
