As we enter a new phase of growth, we are looking for a driven Senior Electrical Design Engineer, with end-to-end responsibilities, to go on this journey with us.

Your role

As our Lead Electrical Design Engineer at Skytree, you will play a crucial role in the product development process. One the one hand you’ll be doing this by guiding a small team of talented Electrical Design Engineers. On the other, hand you’ll be part of the development of electrical systems for the Skytree CO2 capture machines, with a focus on power electronics and new product development.

While leading the team from a technical point of view, together you’ll collaborate with internal external cross-functional teams, conduct analysis, and ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and regulations to deliver innovative CO2 capture machines. Throughout this product creation process, you’ll leverage your extensive experience, (project) management skills and technical expertise, making sure the electrical design - and ultimately the system as a whole - will be optimized.

All of this takes place in an NPI-context while working within a small team, which results in being involved from requirements up to testing and everything in between.

You’ll make an impact by

  • Leading conceptualization and innovation, involving collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and lead the team from there on.

  • Inspiring and coaching the team of Electrical Design Engineers, making sur they all flourish.

  • Keeping an eye on the planning, resulting in delivering on time and within spec.

  • Developing and designing electrical & control (sub)systems for our one-of-a-kind DAC equipment.

  • Being involved in product innovation and new product development from an electrical engineering perspective.

  • Creating detailed electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.

  • Conducting thorough analysis and calculations to ensure optimal electrical design and efficiency.

  • Selecting and evaluating electrical components and subsystems to meet product requirements.

  • Working on debugging and launching new prototypes of Skytree CO2 capture machines.

  • Performing electrical simulations and modeling for system validation and optimization.

  • Preparing necessary documentation, reports, and test plans for certification purposes.

  • Executing root cause analysis on prototype models, helping out with improvements on the design.

What we’re looking for

  • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • At least 8+ years proven experience in electrical design engineering, including new product development.

  • Experience as (technical) lead within a team focused on (new) product development.

  • Experience with complex industrial equipment (low volume / high complexity).

  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations (i.e. IEC).

  • Expert knowledge of EPLAN for 2D as well as 3D (Pro Panel) design, incl. macro’s, labeling/numbering, cable mgt. et ecetera.

  • Experience with power electronics, LV range and I&C. 

  • Very good calculation and analysis skills.

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and hands on approach to work.

  • Professional proficiency in English.

  • Living in The Netherlands or willing to relocate.

Note: we can offer work permit / visa sponsorship for exceptional candidates. We, however, currently do not offer a relocation package / remuneration in case you would need to move to The Netherlands for this position. Thanks for your understanding.
