THE ROLE
In your role as Laboratory Technician you are responsible for organization Skytree’s laboratories and conducting tests and maintaining the equipment for Direct Air Capture of the R&D department. Key responsibilities consist of daily lab organization and support of our researchers, coordination with relevant external stakeholders (suppliers of equipment, external installation parties) and technical maintenance of installations and equipment.
YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT BY
Keeping laboratories operational by implementing maintenance, safety and training procedures and protocols
Maintaining the highest safety standards within the laboratories
Conducting tests on equipment in-house to determine the performance of various sorbent materials (such as breakthrough analysis)
Conducting standard characterization tests in the chemical laboratory, such as moisture content level and particle size distribution
Assistance with the purchase and installation of new equipment and the associated repair and maintenance strategy
Pro-actively support the R&D and Engineering team with regard to operational aspects of laboratory facilities and process equipment
Collaborating with members of the R&D team daily to establish testing plans
Support the surrounding Skytree team
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
You have a BSc degree and relevant working experience (technical environments like laboratories and workshops. Maintenance of equipment, preferably in a comparable role)
Demonstrated affinity with working in a physical/chemical research environment.
Experience with breakthrough analysis and chemical lab equipment is a plus
You work in a reliable, consistent and independent manner and adhere to protocols
You are open-minded and enjoy working as part of a diverse, multi-cultural team
You are a good (verbal) communicator and communicate test results is a clear, structured way
Good command of the English language (written and spoken) - Dutch is a plus
