THE PROJECT

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate intern to join our Research & Development team to support our electrochemical direct air capture (eDAC) of carbon dioxide (CO₂) project. The internship will offer hands-on experience with the development, testing, and optimization of electrochemical DAC systems aimed at capturing CO₂ directly from the atmosphere. This is an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates in chemical engineering, environmental science, electrochemistry, or a related field to contribute to impactful technology while gaining practical industry experience.

* Internship duration- 3-6 months, full-time, 40 hrs a week.

* Start date- Dec 2024/ Jan 2025

* This position does not meet the criteria for employer sponsorship, therefore we are unable to support work permit or residency applications.

YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT BY

• Conducting literature reviews on the latest technologies and trends in DAC and electrochemical systems.

• Supporting in choosing the most promising eDAC technologies.

• Supporting the set up of the electrochemical testing platform.

• Assisting in the design and optimization of electrochemical systems for CO₂ capture from ambient air.

• Supporting experimental testing and characterization of electrochemical cells, electrodes, and electrolytes.

• Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to electrochemical performance and CO₂ capture efficiency.

• Preparing technical reports and presentations on project progress and findings.

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including material scientists and mechanical engineers, to enhance system performance.

• Ensuring compliance with safety standards and maintaining proper documentation of experimental procedures.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Materials Science, Electrochemistry, or a related discipline.

• Strong understanding of electrochemical principles (and carbon capture technologies).

• Experience with laboratory work, including handling of electrochemical equipment, is preferred.

• Familiarity with data analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, or similar tools) is a plus.

• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
