THE ROLE
As a Grants and Public Funding Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting our Senior Business Finance Manager in managing grant applications, subsidies, and financial operations. Your work will directly contribute to Skytree’s growth by identifying public funding opportunities and streamlining our financial processes. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in finance within a cleantech company, working at the intersection of sustainability and innovation.
You’ll be involved in key tasks such as financial modeling, grant writing, reporting, and subsidy management, helping to secure external funding sources that drive our projects forward. Your support will be essential to our mission of enabling a transition to cleaner air through Direct Air Capture technology.
* Internship duration- 3-6 months, full-time, 40 hrs a week.
*Start date- Feb/ March 2025
* This position does not meet the criteria for employer sponsorship, therefore we are unable to support work permit or residency applications.
Learning Opportunities:
Funding Strategy Development: Gain practical experience in identifying and applying for grants and subsidies, understanding their impact on business growth.
Financial Analysis & Forecasting: Learn to develop and maintain financial models to assess revenue, costs, and profitability.
Grant Writing & Submission: Get hands-on experience in crafting compelling grant applications, working with different teams to gather the necessary information.
YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT BY
Researching and identifying funding opportunities, including grants, subsidies, and prize competitions.
Assisting in preparing grant applications, including writing proposals, collecting supporting documentation, and tracking deadlines.
Supporting in financial modeling and analysis to assess potential funding sources and project impacts.
Helping with progress reporting and compliance requirements for ongoing subsidies and grants.
Collaborating with the Senior Business Finance Manager to build business cases for new commercial offerings, including financial structuring.
Tracking industry trends and policy changes related to funding opportunities in climate tech and carbon capture.
Assisting with general financial administration, including maintaining accurate records of applications and reporting.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You are currently pursuing or just completed a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, European Studies, European administration, Public Affairs or any other related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and interpret financial budgets.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience in grant writing, financial analysis, or project management is a plus.
You live in the Netherlands within commuting distance to Amsterdam.
Fluency in English is required; Dutch is a plus.
