WE ARE SKYTREE
Skytree enables a transition to a world with cleaner Air for everyone. We do this by developing and deploying smart technology that captures atmospheric carbon dioxide, enabling its use or storage to combat climate change and aid society and businesses around the world.
Born out of the European Space Agency (ESA), we are a global team of highly talented scientists, engineers and business professionals, supported by an experienced management team. Our working culture is based on a dynamic and smart approach to business with an open and understanding attitude to others and a desire to expand the boundaries of what is possible.
As we enter a new phase of growth, we are looking for an Electrical Prototype Assembler to continue on this journey with us.

THE ROLE
Over the last few years, the team has been working on several prototypes to get to a current concept with which we’re able to capture carbon dioxide as effectively and efficiently as possible. Having found the optimum when it comes to the concept, we’re currently building several prototypes to iterate on specs like durability, reliability, testing the machine in certain conditions (to name a few) and such.
While the engineering team is working hard to finalise the detailed design, meaning that all sub-systems and parts can be delivered, the system as a whole needs to be assembled. Also electrically. And obviously, that’s where you come in as our Electrical Prototype Assembler. As you’ll assemble a system that’s never been build before you can imagine it won’t be easy. Imaginably, assembling the system comes with iterations and thus with a heavy interface with the engineering team.
YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT BY
Collaborate with the electrical design engineers to comprehend project requirements and employ engineering principles to develop prototypes and (sub) system assemblies for DAC systems.
Commission/Test DAC prototypes by integrating electrical components with precision, ensuring seamless functionality of subsystems.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives at Skytree by actively participating in ideation and collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish testing procedures, analyze results, and implement iterative enhancements to prototype functionality.
Collaborate closely with engineers, and project managers to ensure alignment with project objectives, while effectively communicating prototype design decisions, changes, and test outcomes to team members.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
An educational background in electrical engineering, at least on Vocational/Associate’s level.
A valid NEN 3140 certificate; a NEN 1010 certificate is a plus.
Proven experience in rapid prototyping techniques, prototype development, and specifically in creating electrical assemblies.
Good understanding of electrical drawing and diagrams, to effectively and accurately translate these into electrical cabinet and assemblies.
You have a proactive mindset and are able to deal with a high level of accountability.
You’re intrinsically driven. You don’t need external expectations to get going.
The ability to excel at innovation. In our constantly evolving work environment, adaptability is key.
Excellent (English) communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
You are allowed to work in The Netherlands without any restrictions, and you will not need work permit / visa sponsorship.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Apart from working with great colleagues and a competitive package, you can also expect these additional benefits:
An opportunity for professional and personal growth in one of the most innovative cleantech start-ups in Amsterdam!
A diverse and international team.
A company e-sim/sim card and laptop.
Travel cost reimbursement (choose from an NS business card, lease bike, or 23ct p/km travel allowance).
25 vacation days per year.
Two cozy locations in Amsterdam and Almere, easy to reach by OV or car.
A monthly lunch allowance.
Regular social activities hosted by our very own Champagne Committee.
